Dundonald Singles - Event 6 - Results The winners of the sixth Singles Event held at DIIB were Ryan Press (1580, 197.50 average) in the Scratch Section with Jonathan Gilliland (1788 inc. 38 Hcap, 223.50 average) in the Handicap Section. Jet Centre Classic 2009

The next event will be held at the Brunswick Superbowl on 8th March starting at 9.30am. All players are reminded that the next event will also be the first of 3 qualifiers to win a place in the Finals to select Northern Ireland's representatives for this year's QubicaAMF World Cup. Entry to the WCQ is an additional £20.00.

Event Announcements World Cup Qualifier 2009 Entry fee of £20.00 must be paid at the March Ranking (Derry). Jet Centre Classic 2009 The competition will consist of 6 games (moving lanes after 3 games) including handicap which will be based on the bowler's Northern Ireland Ranking Tour average or alternatively the bowler's highest league average if not participating on the Tour. All participants must be a current NITBF member (or cardholder of another recognised national federation). Entries can be made by contacting Allen Sinton. Places are limited and bowlers are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships The IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships begin this Sunday, 23rd November, at the Dundonald International Ice Bowl with the Opening Ceremony commencing at 3pm. Countries will compete for medals in Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Team, All Events and Masters events. All of the information on the championships can be found at the official website.

National Ranking Tour - Schedule Change Due to refurbishments at Brunswick Superbowl the 3rd Ranking Event will now take place in the Jet Centre, Coleraine on 16th November starting at 9.30am. Brunswick Superbowl will instead host the 4th Ranking Event of the season on 14th December.

An EGM will be held following this Sunday's Natiional Ranking Event (19th October) at the Dundonald International Ice Bowl. The EGM has been called in order to ratify changes to the NITBF Constitution.

2008/2009 NITBF Memberships All current NITBF members are reminded that your 2007/2008 membership has now expired and is due for renewal. New members are also invited to apply for NITBF membership for the 2008/2009 Season. This season sees a change in the adult squads with any member purchasing an Adult Gold Card membership being automatically added to the adult squads* for selection to both national and international events. Those purchasing the Adult Gold Card memberships will make up the male and female adult squads for 2008/2009 Season. The usual squad selection process will be used to select players for events. The same applies for the Senior Gold Card which will gain entry to the Senior Squad* only. *If Gold Card membership is not paid in full prior to the start of the second National Ranking Event you will not be entitled to a place on any squad. Ranking Event 1 - Results Today seen the start of the new 2008/2009 Ranking Tour. Winners of today's event were as follows: Mens: Ryan Press (1747, 218.38 average) Full results can be found in the Event Results & Standings section of the website. The next event will be held at the Dundonald International Ice Bowl on 19th October starting at 9.30am. It is intended that this event will be played on a short oil pattern.
World Women's Championships 2009 - Qualifier Information The next World Women's Championships will be held at the Cashman Center, Las Vegas, USA tentatively scheduled for 25th July - 2nd August 2009. Six women will make up the Northern Ireland team and these players will be selected from a 5 event qualification process. After the first 5 events of the 2008/2009 National Ranking Tour the top 6 women will be invited to represent Northern Ireland at the championships* *Please note that to be eligible for selection you must be an adult squad member having paid the £35 membership fee for the NITBF Adult Gold Card Membership. Only players that register for Adult Gold Card Membership prior to the start of the first ranking event in the Jet Centre, Coleraine will be eligible for selection. The first ranking event and the first qualifier for the World Women's Championships will take place on 14th September 2008 at the Jet Centre, Coleraine starting at 9.30am. The first event will be played on a long oil pattern.

Dundonald Singles 2008/2009 - Event Information The Dundonald Singles Tournament for the 2008/2009 gets underway on Sunday 7th September starting at 10.30am (Registration opens at 10am) at the Dundonald International Ice Bowl. The format will remain the same as previous years with 6 qualifying events before a Round Robin Final event to determine the winners of both the scratch and handicap sections. The first event is intended to be played on the long oil pattern with each event after this alternating between long and short patterns. Each event will take place in the first weekend of each month. Your current highest average will be used to calculate a handicap for the handicap section. The entry fees are £20 per event plus a one-off £5 tournament entry fee. National Ranking Tour 08/09 - Event Information The Northern Ireland National Ranking Tour for the upcoming 2008/2009 season will begin with the following events: 14th September 2008 - Jet Centre, Coleraine (9.30am start, Long Oil Pattern) Please note that the Entry Fees will increase from £25 to £26 for the 2008/2009 season.
