Junior Fundraising Night

The Juniors have arranged another Fundraising Night on Friday 1st October at Dundondald International Ice Bowl 7.30pm start. The night will feature a quiz and music by Russell Dunbar.

National Ranking Tour 09/10 - Champions

Following the conclusion of the final event of the 2009/2010 National Ranking Tour Season, the champions in the U24 YAC and U19 Juniors Sections were:
U24 YAC Champion - Grant Dugan
U19 Juniors Champion - Zara Payne
Congratulations to both of our winners, who also both took the Powerworld Cup titles in their respective sections, and we look forward to the start of the 2010/2011 National Ranking Tour Season this September. Finally we wish all of our YAC and Junior players who are representing Northern Ireland in the World Youth Championships, World Men's Championships and Adult Triple Crown the very best of luck!

Dundonald International Ice Bowl
Today’s U24 YAC section winner was Grant Dugan with a total of 1559 (194.88 average) with David Seay in second place with a 8 game total of 1527 (190.88 average) and Zara Payne in 3rd with a total of 1346 (168.25 average).
The U19 Handicap section was won by Scott Horton with a total of 1533 (191.63 average including 46 Handicap per game) with Zara Payne in 2nd place with a 8 game total of 1498 (187.25 average including 19 Handicap per game) .

Ranking Event 8 - Results

Brunswick Superbowl
Today’s U24 Ranking Winner was Grant Dugan with a total of 1597 (199.63 average) and in doing so regained the YAC Trophy with one event remaining. David Seay was in second place with a total of 1514 (189.25 average) and Zara Payne in 3rd with a total of 1469 (183.63 average). Congratulations go to Zara after achieving her personal best series in last months event, she broke her personal best series again in this month's event and equalled her highest ever finish in the ladies section in 2nd place.
The U19 Handicap section was won by Zara Payne with a total of 1533 (191.63 average including 8 Handicap per game) with Scott Horton in 2nd place with a total of 1248 (156.00 average including 18 Handicap per game).

Brunswick Superbowl
Today’s Under 24 Ranking in the Brunswick Superbowl was won by Lauren Dugan with a total of 1449 for her 8 games (181.13 average). Lauren became the first player, other than Grant Dugan and David Seay who have dominated the YAC section in recent seasons, to have won a YAC event in the last 3 seasons. In 2nd place was David Seay with a total of 1438 (179.75 average) for his 8 games and was closely followed in 3rd place by Zara Payne with a series of 1430 (178.75 average). Also, Lauren is congratulated on finishing in 2nd place in the ladies section for the second event running and Zara Payne achieved her new personal best ranking pinfall total of
In the Under 19 handicap section Scott Horton won his 4 ranking event of the season with a huge 1735 series ( 216.88 average including 51 Handicap per game) from Zara Payne in 2nd place with an 8 game total of 1606 ( 200.75 average including 22 Handicap per game).

Today’s Under 24 Ranking in the Jet Centre was won by Grant Dugan with a total of 1576 for his 8 games (197.00 average). In 2nd place was David Seay with a total of 1462 (182.75 average) for his 8 games and was closely followed in 3rd place by Lauren Dugan with a series of 1452 (181.50 average). Also, Lauren is congratulated on finishing in 2nd place in the ladies section.
In the Under 19 Handicap Section Zara Payne won the event today with a series of 1511 for her 8 games (188.88 average including 17 Handicap per game)

Saturday Morning Juniors League
12th February 2010

The closest ever Saturday morning junior’s league in Dundonald International Ice Bowl came to a close on 6th February 2010 with Carter Bryson winning the league with 60 points, ahead of Shania Dunbar with 54 points and Nathan Chan with 53 points. Sam Donnan won the award for high handicap game of 237 while Stephen Lynas took the high handicap series with 636. Ross Wightman and Rachael Martin were declared the most improved male and female bowlers respectively.The winners are pictured above with their supervisor and coach Karen Payne.
Congratulations go to all the winners!! The next Saturday morning junior league commences on Saturday 13th February at 10.30am-12.30pm in Dundonald International Ice Bowl. The weekly cost is £5 per junior including coaching. Come along and have some fun, never know you could be one of the next award winners!

Today’s Under 24 Ranking Event was won by David Seay with a total of 1371 for his 8 games (171.375 average), with Grant Dugan slightly behind in 2nd with a pinfall total of 1366 (170.75 average) and Zara Payne was 3rd with a total of 1323 for her 8 games (165.375 average)
In the Under 19 Handicap Section Zara Payne made it 3 wins a row with a total of 1515 (189.375 average including 24 Handicap per game) and takes the lead in the standings. Scott Horton finished in 2nd place with a pinfall total of 1283 (160.375 average including 31 Handicap per game).

Fundraising Event
14th January 2010
On Friday 26th February 2010 at 7.30pm the Saturday Morning Junior Strikers from Dundonald International Ice Bowl are holding a fundraising night in the Ice Bowl itself. Entertainment on the night will be provided by our very own Russell Dunbar, where he will be hosting a quiz followed by a musical fest. There will also be prizes galore! Adults are reminded that whilst no alcohol can be purchased on the night, you are welcome to bring your own.
Tickets are £5.00 each and can be purchased from Bernie Bryson, Russell Dunbar or Karen Payne on a Wednesday night between 8.15pm-9.30pm and Saturday mornings between 10.30am-12.30pm in the Ice Bowl. Alternatively contact Karen Payne via email.

Ranking Event 4 - Results

Brunswick Superbowl
Ranking Event 4 was a memorable one for the Juniors as the top 2 boys would secure the top 2 places in the overall standings. David Seay snapped Grant Dugan’s winning streak to win not only the Under 24 section but the overall event at Brunswick Superbowl with a 1600 series (200.00 average). Grant secured second spot in both Under 24’s and the overall standings with a 1599 series (199.88 average) to end up only 1 pin behind David. Zara Payne finished in 3rd place with a 1291 series (161.38 average).
Zara would also secure her 2nd win in the under 19 handicap section with a handicap total of 1507 (188.38 average with 27 handicap per game) with Scott Horton in 2nd place with a handicap total of 1448 (181.00 average with 59 handicap per game).

Ranking Event 3 took place in the Jet Centre, Coleraine. Grant Dugan made it 3 wins out of 3 in the Under 24 section with a 1494 series (186.75 average) with David Seay in 2nd place with a 1419 series (177.38 average) and Zara Payne in 3rd place with a 1345 series (168.13 average).
In the Under 19 Handicap section Zara Payne secured her first win of the season with a handicap total of 1609 (201.13 average with 33 handicap per game) with Scott Horton in 2nd place with a handicap total of 1432 (179.00 average with 31 handicap per game).

The second Junior Ranking Event took place at the Jet Centre in Coleraine. Grant Dugan made it 2 wins out of 2 in the U24 Open Scratch Section with an 8 game total of 1640 (205.00 average). In second place was David Seay with a total of 1494 for his 8 games (186.75 average) and Lauren Dugan took 3rd place with a total of 1340 (167.50 average).
In the U19 Handicap Section Scott Horton took his second win with a total of 1608 for his 8 games (201.00 average including 52 H'cap per Game) with Zara Payne in 2nd place with a total of 1349 (168.62 average including 23 H'cap per Game).

World Youth Championships 2010
13th October 2009
This event is open to all Junior Bowlers under the age of 21 and will take place from July 23rd to 1st August 2010 at Tali Bowl in Helsinki, Finland.
Format: The competition consists of the following format, Singles, Doubles (2 teams of 2 boys and girls each), Team (1 team of 4 boys/girls each). All the events (Singles, Doubles, and Team) play 6 games each.
Selection: Selection will be carried out after the December Ranking Event and that bowlers must compete in 3 of the first 4 ranking events. The Top 4 boys and top 4 girls will be selected to represent Northern Ireland at this event.
Cost: Estimated Cost (Flights, Hotel and Lineage) 800-1000 Euros
Players please note that this will be a self-funded event.

Dundonald International Ice Bowl
The Junior and YAC Ranking season started today, kicking off at Dundonald International Ice Bowl.
In the Under 24 open scratch section, Grant Dugan won the event with a 8 game series of 1584 (198.00 average). David Seay was 2nd with a 8 game total of 1518 (189.75 average) and Lauren Dugan was 3rd with a 1432 (179.63 average) total for her 8 games. Lauren set a new personal best high game with a 241 in Game 6.
In the Under 19 Junior Handicap Section, Scott Horton took the win with a series total of 1564 (195.50 average including 47 Handicap per game) with Zara Payne in 2nd place with a total of 1355 (169.38 average including 11 Handicap per game) for her 8 games.

Junior Bowling at Dundonald International Ice Bowl
Junior bowling sessions are run every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Dundonald International Ice Bowl. The session costs £5 per person.
These sessions are used as practice for current junior players and offer beginners the chance to learn with current Northern Ireland FIC squad members and Eddie Best (Ice Bowl staff) on hand to help out.
